The low level reading and writing routines are very solaris
specific. If those were re-written for another system I believe ONE
would work nicely on another system. However, we have not yet
undertaken such a projct. But, if you'd like to port those routines
to some other system and send them back to us, we may very well
include them in new versions of ONE.

(Oh, and some solaris does run on x86 type machines. ONE may work
on those machines. We have never tried and I have not yet heard of
anyone else attempting this.)
